Our Team
DR. JOSHUA GRAHLMAN, PT, DPT, FAFS
FOUNDER + CHIEF ATHLETE MECHANIC
Entrepreneur and healthcare innovator Dr. Joshua Grahlman, PT, DPT, FAFS is on a mission to make a distinctive difference in the caliber of care athletes of all levels receive, and to disrupt the status quo of the physical therapy industry.
He earned his doctorate from Columbia University with an orthopedic specialty and has spent his career treating accomplished athletes including four-time World Ironman Champion Chrissie Wellington, two Ironman Champion triathletes, an Olympic marathoner and Olympic fencer, and age-group competitors of all skill levels.
For the last decade, Dr. Josh has staked his reputation on getting athletes better — not just some of the time, but every time. That confidence and track record comes from utilizing a highly customized 360° approach to training and treatment. He treats his athletes as whole people, not just injured body parts. As such, Clutch PT + Performance has earned a reputation as the premiere clinic for physical therapy on the Upper East Side. We are also well known as a coveted rotation in Sports and Orthopedics for Columbia University students finishing their doctoral program in physical therapy.
Dr. Josh has special knowledge of endurance and overhead sports as well as biomechanics, and has traveled the country to take part in continuing education classes. He is one of just a few DPTs in New York City recognized as a Fellow in Applied Functional Science through the Gray Institute for Functional Transformation (GIFT). This expertise allows him to incorporate groundbreaking techniques in his personalized treatments. Dr. Josh is also certified in Active Release Technique and Spinal Manipulation and is a TRX Suspension Training Specialist. He has consulted for Triathlete, Men’s Health, My Fitness Pal and CBS News, and regularly hosts clinics about injury prevention, sports performance optimization and workspace ergonomics for sports teams and corporations in New York City. Athletes from around the world have sought out his expertise — time zones are not a barrier to delivering the best care!
As an accomplished athlete always ready to sub in on any team, Dr. Josh truly understands the mindset of his patients and how important it is to get them back to doing what they love. He empowers athletes to focus on what they CAN do, instead of what they cannot, and gets them to an even higher level of performance than before limitation. At 40, he’s still tackling new sports himself alongside his two ice hockey-obsessed kids.
Dr. Dominik Slaweta, PT, DPT, OCs, CSCS
ATHLETE MECHANIC
The son of Polish immigrants, Dr. Dominik Slaweta, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS is a born-and-bred New Yorker, raised to believe in the power of hard work, on and off the field.
His first inspiration was his father, who is also a physical therapist and avid sports fan. He taught Dr. Dom that sports show us how to handle failure, how to get back up and not to give in to fear, especially when faced with a comeback after injury. His dad treated Dom throughout his youth athletic career in basketball and soccer, motivating him to choose the same professional path.
Dr. Dom specializes in orthopedics, sports rehab and vestibular rehab. He also became a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist to better understand the science behind improving athletic performance. He truly gets his athletes because he’s been exactly where they are, and knows how to get them where they want to go. His passion is not just treating orthopedic injuries and conditions, but preventing them from happening in the first place.
Dr. Dom also prioritizes his own fitness, and gives his absolute best in the clinic and on the pitch. Sport is life to him, as is his Polish heritage.
Coming to Clutch is a dream for Dr. Dom, with its state of the art facility and opportunity to be surrounded by clinicians and trainers who share the same treatment philosophies and desire to help athletes reach their full potential.
When he’s not treating, training or playing soccer, Dr. Dom is volunteering his time to coach kids with autism, boxing with adults who have been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, traveling, delving into history or hitting a live music venue. “Just do it!” is the powerful mindset he uses to continually push himself in new ways.
DR. RAYMOND DELACRUZ, PT, MSPT, CSCS, CMTPT, FAAOMPT
ATHLETE MECHANIC + DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION
Even though his family moved all over the country while he was growing up because his father was in the U.S. Coast Guard, Raymond Delacruz played every sport he could — soccer, wrestling, flag football, volleyball and softball. Being uprooted regularly taught him how to make new friends and relate to people easily — a skill he carried into his career as a physical therapist. Ray really gets to know his patients, and values the opportunity for one-on-one care here at Clutch PT + Performance.
After rehabbing from various sports injuries in high school, Ray knew he was destined to become a physical therapist. He earned his Master’s in Rehabilitation Science/Physical Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina and is fellowship trained in orthopedics and manual physical therapy through the Manual Therapy Institute. As such, he is now a recognized Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. Ray is also pursuing his Doctorate in Education from the University of St. Augustine for the Health Science. He believes strongly in the benefits of life-long learning and professional development, as evidenced by his numerous certifications and desire to share his knowledge with his patients and colleagues.
Currently, Ray is working on an advanced medical certification through Titleist Performance Institute. This specialized training allows him to better evaluate a golfer’s physical limitations so he can address what’s holding them back and impacting their swing. Navigating golf-specific injuries and rehab is highly complex. Ray is an expert at identifying and addressing the underlying causes of injury to eliminate pain as well as reduce the likelihood of recurrence. (Translation: feel better on the links and be able to keep talking smack for years to come!)
You’ll find Ray to be a unique mix of eternal academic and adrenaline junkie. Whenever he can, he gets his heart thumping with outdoor adventures like white water rafting, sky diving, rock climbing and cliff jumping. But on a daily basis, the rush he feels by helping others achieve and surpass their goals is what drives and motivates him. He is humbled to have a hand in his patients’ success, and feels greater pride in their accomplishments than his own. We’re thrilled to share Ray’s vast knowledge, optimism and expertise with our patients.
JULIE LAMB
BRAND MANAGER
Ever slide into our DMs? Our Brand Manager Julie is the one writing you back!
Over a decade ago, Julie hobbled into PT for the first time with a massive chip on her shoulder about being there. She’d developed a stubborn case of ITBS training for her first NYC marathon. Dr. Josh fixed her, and has been fixing her ever since, through an Ironman, a 120-mile stage uItra, two pregnancies, Boston and more marathons than either of them can remember. She knows being injured blows, and as the voice of our brand, she helps our patients trust that we really do GET IT.
In her career as a creative director, Julie has helped cult-favorite brands like Brooks Running, Peloton, Crunch Fitness and The Vitamin Shoppe make their mark on the fitness industry. Some of her proudest professional highlights include having her posters for Crunch stolen off gym walls and out of airplane seat back pockets, and meeting Boston marathon champ Des Linden, where she did not keep her cool at all whatsoever.
Julie is also a certified yoga instructor and believes in its transformative power, particularly for tweens in NYC where they are surrounded by noise, distraction, and competition. She considers it a privilege to teach young yogis to connect with the calming power of their breath — a skill that will help them be their most centered selves for life.
Juggling parenting, work, training and trying not to suck at being a present partner and friend is a constant balancing act. Sometimes she drops ALL the balls. Sometimes she’s had enough caffeine to keep them all going. Regardless, Julie says seeing her kids’ faces at finish lines always make the journey worthwhile. Seems crazy to some, but it’s actually what keeps her sane.
